Ivanovsky Institute of Virology is the leading Russian research institution in the sphere of virology. A number of WHO centers, All-Russian Center of the ecology of viruses, State collection of viruses, Council of experts of the virology Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Ethical Committee, Dissertation Council, several diagnostic centers, Clinical Unit of the First Moscow Hospital for Infectious Diseases, and a facility for experimental manufacturing (release and quality assurance of diagnostic kits and antiviral vaccines) are based at the Ivanovsky Institute. The Institute holds a small biorepository.
