Institut Pasteur Paris Training course: Isolation of enteroviruses from clinical samples - Detection by real-time RT-PCR
In this 3 weeks course the basic principles of routine enterovirus isolation on cell lines will be addressed by a combination of lectures, demonstration and hands-on training. Participants will perform all required laboratory and analysis procedures for routine isolation of enterovirus. Topics included: Presentation and handling of different cell lines suitable for enterovirus isolation – Inoculation of cells with enterovirus samples in a BSL-2 facility - Nucleic acid extraction and real-time RT-PCR for enterovirus detection. This training can be supplemented by an extra week entitled « Enterovirus titration methods and Plaque assays ».
